I watched a movie tonight and cried my eyes out. If you know me, you know this is nothing new. I love tear-jerking movies... However, this movie totally hit home tonight. A little girl sat at her mother's grave site crying that she never wanted to forget her mother. It reminded me of myself at about 10 years of age. About 2 years after Mom died, I realized, even at a young age, that I was starting to forget certain things about Mom. I cried as I hung on tight to the sound of her laugh. To this day, if I try hard enough, I can still remember the sound; however, most things have faded. Luckily, I have the photos to hang on to. Some days when I'm missing her most, seeing her beautiful smile in photos brings me the peace and comfort I need. This, my friends, is why I love what I do. People come and go on this earth, but moments caught on camera can last a lifetime. It's those sweet precious memories that I am so proud to be able to capture for my clients. I am grateful to do what I love, and the day I'm about to share truly blessed me in capturing these moments.
The reference of mother's pictures ties in for a wedding I shot this past weekend. Kody and Danny started their union together this past Friday in Austin, TX. It was a day surrounded by those nearest & dearest to them, and I am so glad I could take part in this day and capture these memories on camera.
I start with one of my favorite photos from the day. This is Kody's mom. Kody asked that I capture as many pictures as possible because her mother has stage 4 cancer. Kody was so blessed to have her mother by her side for her big day. Her mother was so proud, and I think it shows in this picture with the look on her face as she admires her precious daughter.
The beautiful bride did a great job in her planning. Check out her fabulous shoes!
The rest of the photos are moments and details throughout the day. It truly was a gorgeous day filled with tons of love and laughter.
