A smile to change my world- Kelton's Big Day{Life's Lessons}

Meet Kelton.
A 6 year old with a gorgeous smile.
Melts my heart everytime I see it.

I met Kelton a few weekends ago. I walked up to him and asked to shake his hand. He declined as he stuffed a cookie into his mouth. How dare I interrupt his cookie time? Totally understandable.
He was spending the weekend on Belton Lake with his family. Rob Reese from Frank's Marina had donated a boat for the weekend. Rob had contacted me to photograph some of his time at the lake.
Kelton(at the time I was contacted) only had 4-6 weeks left to live. He is battling one of the hardest things a person can face...cancer.
The weekend spent at the lake was one of his final wishes. He had a blast with his family and was able to just be a kid without any extra stresses.
Check out my website for many more pictures of him and his beautiful family. You will soon see why his contagious smile turned my world upside down. Kelton and his smile will forever live on in my heart.

Please pray for Kelton and his family.

TONY & CRIS {2BECOME1}

Tony and Cris met in Austin a few years back, and have hit it off ever since. They come from two different worlds(well, not really.....)...Tony is from Alaska and Cris is from Brazil, but they mesh perfectly. Tony is serving our country in the United States Army. This couple has been through an ocean of seperation as Tony served in Iraq, but their love has stayed so strong. They're an absolutely beautiful couple.Their love shines by the way they smile at each other, and are able to completely be themselves...they are definitely a hoot to be around.
Tony and Cris tied the knot on Saturday, May 17th. The beautiful, intimate ceremony took place at the breath taking Renaissance Hotel in Austin, Texas. What a gorgeous place to be! Mr. and Mrs. Gill, thank you for allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding day on camera. Jimmy and I had a wonderful time with the two of you. We wish you many years of continued true love and bliss.
Here are a few of my favorites from their day. I still have plenty more left to edit but I thought I would share these.
Holding each other's hands during the beautifully unique hand ceremony. It was so touching.
Tony admiring Cris from afar.
Taking a stroll in the courtyard with the hotel in the background.
Tony holding his bride in an intimate moment.

poo on blogger

I am trying to get some pictures posted, but Blogger is not cooperating. Stay close...I promise I will continue to attempt.

To sleep or not to sleep?

I'm such a night owl. It's a horrible addiction that I am embarassed to admit. But hey, isn't that what blogging is for? It's a love/hate relationship...me and sleep, that is. I hate to sleep...I always feel as if there is so much more I want to accomplish in my day, but as soon as I'm on that last ounce of energy my cold sheets are calling my name.
So it's 4:15 in the morning and I am researching like crazy on business ideas, techniques, and yearning for some inspiration. This is what keeps me going, my friends. I was just reading an article by a photographer filled with encouragement and simple reminders. For those of you who jump in front of my camera lens, you might not realize all that goes into capturing those images for you. Yes, I have "the eye" as some like to call it, but I'm running a business and that involves my creativity and so much more. It's funny to think that someone who deals with anxiety on a daily basis(yes, that's me...) has consumed their life into a job where I am constantly placing myself into unknown situations with complete strangers who are somehow trusting me to capture moments that will only happen once in their lifetime. Craziness. Obviously, I am passionately in love with my job...or I would have broke down by now. To all of you who have trusted me, thanks. My desire is for you to receive your prints and still have that same amount of trust, if not more, when all is said and done. To those who are still skeptical and stalking my website and blog, go ahead and shoot me an email and give me the opportunity to capture those moments for you. In the words of my lovely father(who you will learn is still Daddy to me) "If you don't believe me, just ask me." I will hope that my confidence can win you over and have you in front of my lens in no time. Off I go back into the never ending amount of creativity I find in the world wide web.

UPDATE

I've been on vacation, so I haven't been able to get this thing rolling. I do have a few pictures to share, but I'll share them all in their own post. These past few weeks have been non-stop, but I've met some of the greatest people. Lesson learned: So much of life is wasted waiting. Just live for today.
