ROCK N ROLL, BABY!!

So, here's a little look in Rebecca's world.... How I've become the photographer/business woman I am today.

I have a tendency to let things overwhelm me at times. From an early age, more than likely dealing with my mother's death and the events that followed, I experienced many emotions for a young kid. Regretfully, anxiety has stuck around. Yuck. As your photographer, I am PASSIONATELY in love with my job. However, sometimes I feel the pressure piling on as if a 500 pound man is sitting on my chest(more than likely eating a package of Oreos). Here you are, trusting me to capture moments in your life that you will never relive.

HOLY. COW.

Can you see why I sometimes feel that oversized man on my chest? However, there is something I've used recently to get past that anxiety and head into a shoot or wedding with roaring confidence. And honestly, I think this confidence has shown in my work recently. It's helping me become the photographer I've dreamt to be. There's a million mile march ahead of me to reach my final goal, but for now, I am happy. I am blessed. I am willing. I am growing. I have amazing support, and I have a little secret....

Wanna know?
Well here it is. This saying gets me moving through my days.
" LET'S ROCK N ROLL, baby!!!!"

Ok, so I know it's completely and totally cheesy. However, it gets me running full force into my shoots and events.

As a kid, Daddy ran the world of the Bonner house with one teenager and two crazy kiddos. Mom had passed away, and Dad was playing the role of Mom and Dad. (How in the world did he do it?) I know there had to be days when he just wanted to hit the snooze button and stay in bed, but he never once did. He would get us moving in the morning ,and when it was time to take off, you knew it, cause there was the "LET'S ROCK N ROLL, baby!!"(if you could only hear him say it.)That meant Daddy was ready to head out the door and accomplish whatever was ahead in the day. From what I remember, he continued this saying until the day I left home. I always knew it was time to roll out and do what I needed to do. So now, when I'm driving to meet a client, and I have a million ridiculous things running through my head, trying to distract me... I say a prayer...and whisper to myself "ROCK n ROLL, BABY!!!". This simply reminds me that I know it's time to do what I'm set on this earth to do. Capture irrevocable moments that will leave you smiling, giggling, reminiscing, and completely pleased. So, thanks Daddy, for always getting us kiddos to "ROCK N ROLL, BABY". The little things in life. Ah, so blessed.

Here's a pic of the man whose helped me become the woman I am today. This is Daddy walking me down the aisle on my wedding day. I was ready to dash down that aisle to my handsome groom, but Daddy held my hand and slowed down my pace. He pretty much saved me from looking like a fool ,tripping over my wedding dress. It's not a close-up picture of him, but it's a picture that truly represents the man he has been in my life. Thanks for always being there, especially when I needed you most. Even now when you don't even know it. I love you, Daddy!!
